In view of the current concerns and travel restrictions internationally as a result of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic and in order to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all participants, the decision has been taken to postpone all physical 2020 Managed Services Summit events until 2021.
Following on from the successful launch of the Managed Services Summit Live virtual summit in June 2020, we are delighted to announce Managed Services Summit Live II, taking place on 28-29 October 2020. This is not a replacement for the live events(we believe live face to face interaction, learning and networking can never be fully replaced digitally), it is designed to be complementary to it - to bring the industry together virtually and on-line to help deal with the unprecedented challenges we all currently face.
The 2nd virtual summit will utilise an enhanced event engine, integrating presentations, digital sponsors booth’s and the networking portal into one portal – allowing for live chat between delegates, speakers and sponsors.
The event will take the form of two 3-hour interactive sessions over 2 days.
Each session will focus on a key issue MSPs currently face and will be based around a keynote presentation from an independent authority along with further 10-minute interactive presentations and interviews with industry experts. They will also feature a moderated panel discussion responding to issues raised by the audience.
Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions and help frame discussions before, during and after the event and will also be provided with access to presentation content and supporting materials after it.
Key elements of the online summit:
The running of a successful MSP in 2020/2021 will require more direction and insights than previously. The various parts of the business may all be moving at different paces – a focus on efficiency will need to target specific roles and aspects of the business. Competition for customers and resources will be increased and the vertical markets being served will have new demands.
This online event aims to bring MSPs up-to-date with the markets, platforms, additional services and approaches, based on the real experience of those MSPs who are proving successful. We aim to use the genuine voice of the MSP to highlight changes as they take place, explore proven best practice and tools, and ideas for marketing and sales that support the new and changed models.
Alastair Mills, founder and former CEO of Six Degrees Group, who has just launched a £30m merged services business, Kerv, with backing from Lloyds private equity, talks about strategies for integrating businesses, finding funding and building trust in the market.
Barney Taylor, MSP Ensono’s European MD reveals research on how the relationship between IT decision makers and business leaders has changed – often for the better, with a wider scope for what IT investment covers. His new global research shows IT getting more authority and funding within enterprises, but with greater responsibilities.
Selling the use of IoT to customers depends on standards and effective data use including monetisation. Ken Figueredo from the oneM2M Global Standards initiative shows how AI, IoT and data assets will be used in digital transformation, and with partners working together in ecosystems to share expertise.
How things evolved as UK MSP Aabyss, worked with customer Fusion21 in 2020. Fusion21 is a social enterprise dedicated to helping people buy smarter in the public sector with compliant procurement frameworks for property, construction and the built environment and offers a range of community regeneration services. The MSP, Aabyss was charged with upgrading the infrastructure and closing security vulnerabilities. This is a joint discussion with the customer and the MSP to cover how relationships change in a crisis and how the business model evolves.
Riccardo Barrai, IDC research analyst in the European Services Group and a member of IDC's EMEA Cloud Practice, on how managed services will beat recession through: - wider ranges of services - flexibility and scale - commitment to day-to-day problem solving
